The mission of the Image Section is to acquire, restore, conserve and promote the IOC’s photographic, audiovisual and audio fonds for future generations.
The Olympic family, image professionals and students thus have at their disposal more than 650,000 photographs, 42,000 hours of film and 7,000 hours of audio documents retracing the history of the Olympic Movement from 1896 to the present.
The archives can be consulted at The Olympic Museum in Lausanne.
Viewing booths are made available to our clients.
The Image services offers a multimedia service, of which you can see a selection in the multimedia player of this website.
